On June 1, 2015, the Canadian government enacted the Extractive Sector Transparency Measures Act (the “Act”), which establishes mandatory annual reporting for the extractive sector of payments of $100,000 or more made to all governments related to oil, gas and mining development in Canada and abroad. The Canadian Securities Administrators (“CSA”) issued a revision to Staff Notice 51-327 Guidance on Oil and Gas Disclosure (“Staff Notice”) on December 29, 2011.
